Teaching is the concerted sharing of knowledge and experience, which is usually organized within a discipline and, more generally, the provision of stimulus to the psychological and intellectual growth of a person by another person or artifact.
To teach is to engage students in learning by involving them in the active construction of knowledge, and skills by studying, practicing, being taught, or experiencing something.
As a science teacher, teaching is focused on an investigation and interpretive approach, which helps the student become an active participant in problem-situations. Furthermore, it allows the learner to acquire competences in scientific reasoning, communication, observation and experimentation techniques, and apply acquired knowledge to new situations. In this case, the teacher's role is to guide the students throughout their learning process.
To give science teaching its formative value, it should be use appropriate educational supports that can help in understanding process, for example, the use of laboratory activities, and audiovisual aids(films, videotapes, slides....), this contributes to familiarize students with modern technological achievements.
Teachers should adapt classroom practices to students' abilities and make students' progress through active participation .
To attain the objectives of teaching and learning, the teacher should use a variety of:
-Pedagogical approaches.
-Ways of organizing students' work: individual, collective, or in small groups.
-Pace and order of teaching sequences .
-Types of interaction within the classroom(teacher-class, teacher-student, student-student).
