Matter: Definition and states.

Every thing around us can be Matter.

Matter is anything that has weight and takes up space, like you and me. Cars, trees, the food we eat and the air we breathe are all made of matter. 

Things that are not Matter include songs, feelings and dreams.

Matter can be solid, liquid, or gas.

These three main forms of matter all have weight and take up space. A desk, pencil, computer and toy truck are solids. Water and milk are liquids. The air is a gas.

A solid keeps its shape, like a bowling ball, it still keeps its shape. 

Liquids take the shape of their container, such as a bucket, jug or coffee pot. Liquids include things like water, juice and soda.

Gases fill their entire container.

When you blow into a balloon , you fill it up with air which is a gas. Air is all around us. Some liquids such as soda have tiny gas bubbles in them.

                                                     

                                                                                                      

How can education help in saving our planet?

 According to UNESCO, Education is critical to help populations understand and address the impacts of climate change, Education will shape the the world of tomorrow.                                                                       Teachers should play a valuable role to teach the students the exact meaning of environment preservation, about pollution of all kinds, taking precautions for hazards, using of materials like environmental friendly...

   Students should learn how to save the environment by making small changes to how they live their lives on a day to day basis. It means learning how our actions affect the rest of the world .

 

What can you do now that we were not able to do a year ago?

 A year ago COVID-19 pandemic has triggered new ways of learning . More than one billion children     are out of the classroom . All around the world, educational institutions are looking toward online learning platforms to continue with the process of education students. 

 For me, the big challenge was how to to leave my classroom, indefinitely, to recreate a learning   environment that is completely virtual, and how to use technology to enhance engagement with students.

 A year ago, technology was not in my priorities, I used the white board, and sometimes power point, or   videos, to explain the lesson. Now, I use google classroom, zoom, microsoft teams , google form, and   many others technical tools that help teachers better support student learning.

What do you think students should be taught when working online to avoid problems

While teaching online ,we won't be able to control every thing. Educating ourselves and our students with   basic online safety protocols will be beneficial to everyone .                                                                            There are multiple problems faced by students in online classes that can be solved, including:

• Avoid distractions that can affect learning by using platforms that can engage the students for entertainment and communication.
• Avoid technical issues in online classes by using high internet connection that can play an important role to do not miss any live sessions, and to facilitate downloading the information related to the subject.
•  The importance of staying motivated by involve themselves ,connect with their friends and teachers for asking and sharing information 

Challenges you face when learning/teaching online.

 Collaboration and communication are essential for ensuring students and educators stay engaged and     connected online.

 As a teacher , when teaching online, the main  challenge is the permanent search of new tools and paths, to keep my students motivated and interacting with each other .

 Another challenge of online education include lack of direct teaching and learning ,poor network services, lack of power supply, the design and development of content that is appropriate for online learners .

Online learning is not dumping a textbook to learners and expecting them to learn, materials have to be 

 re-versioned , repackage and adapted to the needs of today's learners.

  

 

My opinion about integration technology into teaching

The integration of technology into teaching has become even more essential since technology is becoming the engine on which teaching and learning operates.                                                                                        As a teacher, it's interesting to integrate the technology into teaching because it infuses classrooms with   digital learning tools, such as computers and hand held devices which  increases the engagement of   students in the lessons and their motivation to learn. Furthermore ,Technology has the power to link   teachers to their students and to professional contents and resources to help them   improve their own   instruction and personalize learning. 

Tools that can be used in online assessment

 The technology tools are used in education to support both teaching and learning.

   There are many tools that engage students in the classroom, the more importance are:

   GOOGLE FORM for the quizzes, and assignments...

   MENTIMETER is used for the classroom like a listening skills assessment , icebreakers, engage     students, and even run a teacher training workshop,...

  POLL EVERYWHERE to give quizzes ,take attendance,...

  KAHOOT is compatible with multiple devices and has a game-like feel that will help keep students     interested.

 SOCRATIVE a tool to assess student understanding with prepared activities or on-the-fly questions, then   adjust your teaching based on the results .

How to be a digital citizen?

 To be a digital citizen is to encourage critical thinking skills, to develop the knowledge and information     about technology and internet in an appropriate way to engage and participate in teaching, also, to teach students to think about what they do and how to connect and empathize with each other, and create lasting relationships through digital tools. Furthermore, it's good  to learn how to get rid from the dangers and obligations that come with using technology .More over, it's essential to protect private information for yourself and others as well as to respect copyright and intellectual property, and to balance the time one spend online and using media.
